Discuss differences between the original story and the film adaptation;
2. Discuss these differences in light of Timothy Corrigan’s definition of adaptation as an act of reception;
3. In connection to the two points above, discuss the widespread criticisms of Ann Hui’s adaptation (whatever you can find), in light of at least three of Thomas Leitch’s “Twelve Fallacies in Contemporary Adaptation Theory.”
